Commonly Asked CBD Questions
At 43 Solutions, we are passionate about opening up the world of all-natural, hemp derived CBD products as a supplement for our current, new and future customers.
Learning more about CBD can help you decide if it is the right choice for you. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions we receive about CBD:
What is CBD?
CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, which is a naturally occurring
constituent of the cannabis and hemp plants. Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis, and it is often classified as a nutritional component and wellness supplement.
Of all the cannabinoids found in hemp and marijuana, CBD has excited the medical community the most with its potential health benefits. Recently, scientific studies have been exploring the positive health benefits that CBD has to offer, opening up a world of treatment options for patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
Although it is a cannabinoid, CBD does not directly interact with the brain’s usual cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. Instead, it indirectly signals these receptors to regulate your mood, appetite, memory, and reaction to pain. CBD also inhibits the enzyme breakdown of the body’s naturally-produced cannabinoids. In general, these interactions can alleviate specific symptoms and help you feel better.
What is CBD Oil Used For?
CBD oil is a specific type of cannabis oil that utilizes CBD as its main component. At 43 Solutions, we use an ethanol-based extraction process to obtain the CBD oil from our natural and locally grown hemp, to provide an extremely pure, high-quality oil. This oil is then used to make health supplements that come in a variety of forms, including tinctures, concentrates, salves, and capsules. Our products are “full spectrum” meaning they contain a wide variety of cannabinoids naturally occurring in hemp.
What Does CBD Help With?
CBD can support a healthy lifestyle and in many cases, provide relief from a range of conditions. Many CBD users report experiencing relief from chronic issues such as pain, inflammation, or skin problems. CBD has also been connected to the reduction of oxidative stress, which can help provide support for people that suffer with anxiety or depression.
Is CBD Psychoactive?
When it comes to the effects of CBD oil, one of the top questions we are asked is “does CBD oil get you high?” The answer to this question is no.
Cannabidiol is classified as mildly psychoactive and can actually counteract the psychoactivety of THC. Taken in great abundance, photoactivity has been reported. As you learned, CBD is one of the top cannabinoids present in the hemp plant, with the other abundant cannabinoids being THC, CBD, CBG and CBDA. THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid that provides users with the “high” that many people associate with cannabis. However, CBD has no psychoactive effects under normal dosages, which is what makes is such an excellent option for many patients who solely want the medicinal benefits of cannabis.
How Does CBD Make You Feel?
Although every person is different, the most common effect of CBD is a noticeable improvement in overall physical and mental comfort. Because CBD does not have the psychoactive properties of THC, you aren’t going to feel any sort of “high” or significant alteration of your mental state. Instead, most users feel as if you just took a dose of very effective medicine.
Is CBD Oil Legal in Colorado?
Yes, CBD oil is derived from hemp and is legal in the state of Colorado. The passing of the 2014 farm bill, also known as the Agricultural Act of 2014, gave authorization to state departments of agriculture and institutions of higher learning in states that have legalized hemp cultivation to grow the crop for research and pilot programs. It is categorized as a food-based product by the Colorado Department of Health and Environment. The cultivation of Colorado hemp is overseen by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
